• Greetings everyone,
  
  We've got some great news for you all...
  
  Without a doubt, the fan fic writers have made a substantial and lasting impression on the Xenaverse. For those who witnessed the first postings and encouraged the work of fanfic mainstays such as LN James, S Bowers, DJWP, Bat Morda and Missy Good as well as all those who were brave enough to follow after, we have been treated to an incredible and imaginative array of writing.
  
  Fanfic evolved as the series did, and with so many stories to choose from, those who took the time to post reviews of those stories that should not be missed became invaluable. Blurb's Recommendations of Xenaverse Fan Fiction, established and nurtured by Anima and Angharad Governal (thank you so much for all your work!), became a wonderful resource for fanfic loving fans.
  
  After several years of dedicated effort, Angharad felt it was time to step down and was kind enough to allow us, the folks at The Bardic Circle, to take up the torch in her place. Following her example, we wish to continue to offer top-notch reviews about the bards you love most and also to expand by bringing to light the efforts of the up-and-coming writers who deserve your notice and attention.
  
  And, too, with the ever evolving trends in X:WP fanfic, we have expanded the Blurb Reviews site to include original fiction in its various incarnations and genres. Blurb is stretching its wings and we'll now include reviews about your cult favourites, like Star Trek, Buffy and The X-Files as well as other original online fiction regardless of genre.

• From Barry: Thanks for the intro, Heartbrkn! (lol) Well, I just got back from CA and what do I find? An inbox full of emails complete with attached viruses. If you receive any weird emails (even from email addresses that you know) DO NOT download anything attached to them. Specifically, you want to avoid files with the following extensions: .exe, .pif, .bat, .vbs, .mim, and even .zip (because it could be a self-extracting zip file with a virus).
  
  Anyone who's received email is aware of the small text at the bottom titled 'header.' Usually somewhere in this text is the source of where the spam email came from -- sometimes in the area labeled 'return path.' In the case of all the recent virus emails targeted at Xenites, the spam came from cfu@telus.net. I'd like to take this opportunity to let that person know that I've reported them to the proper authorities. Start worrying cfu.

  All I have to say is thank the gods for beta readers!! Mine has been sooo patient. I am on aol and she is not and every time I send her the file to check she cant open it. I have to change the whole file to htm before sending it then I end up losing stuff too. Any helpers out, on suggestion how to make life a little easier??

  I also see Maryd has been getting these virus emails too. Someone has too much time on there hands, to be sending out viruses like this.

  On another note I saw the new movie with Angelina Jolie. It was very good. Not as good as Jodie Fosters boobs in Panic Room. On highly recommend either movie.

  Last but not least, BARRY IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Also, my server has been under DDOS attack (Distributed Denial of Service), so if you find you're unable to access the site sometimes, that's why. For those of you who don't know what a DDOS attack is, it's basically where a hacker has infiltrated a bunch of computers with a virus and then taken them over in order to send about a million requests per second for web pages on a particular server (not an exact definition, but close enough). It overloads the server's capabilities because it can't respond to all the requests, and crashes the site so that no one else can access it. It's annoying as hell and can be very difficult to isolate and prevent. Hopefully, it won't last much longer, though.

  Someone is way to happy that my computer is working again...ahem..Barry?Anyway Hello all!! Did you guys miss me? Well I have alot to fill you in on so here goes:
  First of all everyone knows my computer broke after I got the cable modem. Well actually my processor blew, dont know how, but it did and now it is fixed(thank the gods)

  NYC finally opened the BBT(brooklyn battery tunnel) and the West Side Highway towards Manhattan, April ! st. So yes I took that route to go see a Broadway show. LEt me tell you they have these big man made green grass fences up where the WTC stood. I was so sad. My g/f and I didn't know what to say to each other. This may sound strange, but I felt like I could feel the presence of all those people we lost there. Am I nuts? I t was very eerie.

  (On a happier note)LIBERTY NEWS!!! Yes I said Liberty. They traded Rebbeca Lobo..to Houston..How strange is that? I dont think it is much of a loss, considering she never played. She was always out with some type of injury. But the weird thing will be to see her play on Houstons team.. It should be a fun season.I am so excited.I can't wait.

  Last but not least, I will be updating by myself for the next few weeks(like I used to before I demanded a life (g))So Please everyone that sends there updates to Barry send them my way or they wont get posted. Also I am going to BARDCON!! So UFFD will be on vacation from Thursday night(Friday's update) Till Sunday. I'll be posting again on Monday night.   The Amazon Nation, once strong and proud is now on the verge of destruction. They have powerful enemies-- not only Rome's own Caesar, but Ares, the God of War himself. We also meet an age old foe, the misogynist Gantrians. Through Ares's treachery in stealing his sister's sword, Artemis was made powerless to help her daughters against their enemies. With Ares giving the sword (power) to the Gantrians, they couldn't lose.What Ares hadn't counted on was the Gantrians' involvement with Rome and the "selling" of the Amazon Queen as a slave to the Gladiator arena. This unexpected development has gained the attention of an ancient pre-Roman goddess - who wants to be THE Goddess of War, usurping Ares "prime position" as God of War. With Artemis' support, this goddess would have the Amazons for powerful allies, as well. However, first the Sword must be retrieved so the Goddess Artemis can help the Amazons re-build their nation. Ares will use every trick in his arsenal to prevent this - from causing a thirst for vengeance so great as to nearly destroy the Amazon Queen's protegée to creating "civil war" within the Amazon ranks by choosing a "new champion" from among the warrior women - or from one among one of their sister Tribes - who were instrumental in betraying the Amazons to the Gantrians. In a bizarre turn of events, even after retrieving Her Sacred Sword, Artemis, pledged benefactor to the Amazons, is cleverly prevented from attacking the renegade Tribe because of this relationship. Now, as always, it is up to the Amazons themselves to battle their once-sisters for their very survival. I think this qualifies as "Original Fiction" although "Xena Warrior Princess" was a very strong influence. :)

  This is the longest story yet - and it still isn't finished - so I have decided to "serialise" it. In other words, I will send a part of this story as I finish it. So far, Joxer has returned from the dead with a message for Xena and Gabrielle - The Destroyer isn't dead! A mysterious message to Xena and Gabrielle sends Melysë into the spirit realm where Hekate has devastating news for the three queens. In this part, two mysterious visitors come to the Amazon Village - one of whom looks exactly like Xena - and for good reason; she's Eve's daughter and she's pregnant - but that's not all she's carrying. According to her daughter, Lucina, Eve has been "embellishing" on Eli's message.
