I realized on later reflection, however, that if they were both to have died in that finale, there would be the problem of Gabrielle's descendants -- with Hope her only child, half-demon great-granchildren didn't seem a fitting legacy for the bard of Potadeia. I hoped, by adding a third act to the televised portion of the finale, to satisfy my own heart while allowing Gabrielle the time and means to create descendants; but also to rectify a point of illogic in the story.

• Announcement: Greetings. As most of you have probably already heard, members from the online Xena community are banding together to create a virtual seventh season of Xena: Warrior Princess. We currently have forty-six individuals working to make the virtual season a reality. Five episodes are in the process of being written with the season opener almost complete. Our goal is to create a virtual season which mirrors the feel of the original series. The season will consist of 22 episodes which will be "aired" in script format following the original air schedule Xena followed. The first episode is due to air on September 24, 2001. Episode plots will reflect the events of the original series, picking up where the finale left off.   On another note: Planning is now underway for the first ever BardCon, an entirely fan-based convention focusing upon the art and craft of fan fiction. Workshops and panels would be held on everything from writing prose; to beta reading; to desktop and professional publishing and beyond. Space and time would be scheduled for signings by attending bards and for a convention-long silent auction, with all proceeds going to charity. The organizers are looking to hold this unique event in mid-May, 2002; no dates or venues have been chosen yet.
